Origin:  Indo-Pacific tropical regions

Range:  Tropical areas around the world extending from 36 degrees north to 38 degrees south latitude primarily along shore lines and limited distance's inland.

Uses:  Flooring inlays, decorative furniture, cabinetry and handles.

Properties:  Capable of producing surfaces with an extremely smooth sheen due to its heavy density.

Machining:  Works well with sharp carbide tools.

Seasoning:  Drives very well with little or no shrinkage.
