Lati (Amphimas, pterocarpoides)

Similiar Woods:  Wenge, Angelim, Figuera

Trade Names: Lati, Bokanga, White Wengi

Origin:  West Africa

Range:  From the Ivory Coast in the northwest to the Congo in the southwest.

Uses:  Flooring, joinery, general construction, as decorative veneer sometimes dyed brown-black to look like Wenge.

Properties:  Blonde-brown wood which is strong heavy and resistant to abrasion. Has a distinct ripple grain which is moderately course.

Machining:  Difficult to work due to it's grain structure. Seasoning: Seasons easily with little degrade.
