Range:  Panama, French Guiana, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela

Uses:  Marquetry, inlay, ornanmental applications

Properties:  This rich red lustrous wood is hard, durable and resistant to decay. It is its color, which makes this a prized specie.

Machining:  Machines well with hand and power tools.

Seasoning:  Dries easily and rapidly with little degrade.
