Origin:  Australia

Range:  New South Wales, Victoria, Southern Australia and Tasmania usually in the mountain districts.

Uses:  For fine cabinetry, gunstocks, carving and turnery as well as decorative veneers.

Properties:  The wood is golden-brown or sometimes reddish brown with some occassional streaks. It is a strong wood good steam bending and high impact resistance. Liable to attack by beatles and terminites.

Machining:  Work well with hand and power tools.

Seasoning:  Care must be taken in order to prevent cupping.
