Origin: Africa
Range: Western and Central Africa, from the Sierra Leone in the west, to the Uganda in the east, to Angola in the south.
Uses: Boat building, flooring, paneling, furniture.
Properties: Tiama is elastic and flexible with a nice sheen. When quartered it has a nice ribbon stripe and occasionally a broken stripe.
Machining: Machines well with ease.
Seasoning: Drying must be done with caution due to a tendency to twist and warp
