Uses: Marine construction, boat building, sleepers and architectural paneling, specialized plywood.
Properties: A purple/brown color, very dense & heavy wood with twisted grain.
Machining: Difficult due to dense twisted grain.
Seasoning: Very slow in order to prevent checking.
