Trade Names: Aromatic Cedar, Eastern Red Cedar, Juniper
Origin: Eastern USA
Range: From Maine to Florida primiarily in the south central states.
Uses: Chests, closets, pencils, shingles, posts. It's oil is used in medicines as well as perfumes.
Properties: This aromatic wood actualy belongs to the Juniper family. Its smell is a deterent to moths and bugs, therefore used in chests and closets.
Machining: Eastern Red Cedar machines well.
Seasoning: There is very little shrinkage or warping with this stable wood.
